At a recent convention a motivational speaker named Lou Holtz gave a speech about Optimists, Pessimists and Realists and I thought it was particularly applicable to home based businesses.
In the real world which one is the best to be?
It is obvious the pessimist would not be the right choice. As expected they would predict failure and give up making it inevitable.
You would think the optimists would be a good choice. They think nothing but good things will happen despite the obvious insurmountable issues that face them. Going on faith alone they failed.
Realists were the ones that made it. They saw the issues; they planned for them and got through despite it being tough. Because they were realistic about what was coming and found ways to deal with them or at least lessen the effects of what was coming.
Well in home business there can be some tougher times. A realist will see this and make plans to get through. Don’t get me wrong home based business is not bad, it has a lot of great times and personal triumph, but like all things in life there are ups and downs. To get through the harder times you need to plan.
